Hamish from Yorkshire
Strictly speaking, Hamish is a cross-breed, but you certainly wouldn't know it to look at him! His father was an Irish wolfhound and his mother a Scottish deerhound, so we reckon that definitely makes him an honorary wolfhound, and in any event, it's a lovely mix!

Born on 16 October 2004, Hamish was 13-14 weeks old when these photos were taken, and lives near Harrogate with Heather and Nick Riley and their children, Olivia and Toby. He's growing at a rate of knots, and is a bundle of fun!

The cushion says it all, "If you want the best seat in the house, move the dog."!!
Hamish and Toby -
best of friends!
The big wet nose used for shoving up your nightie as you fill the kettle for your morning cuppa! aaaargh!!!!
Heather says that Hamish is a now huge part of the family, no pun intended, and is certainly no shrinking violet! He is also developing the most amazing deep woof . . . shakes the rafters!

October 2007
Hamish is doing great (apart from the wolfhound 'curse' of a persistent tail injury). He's still making the family laugh every day, and they can't imagine life without him.

At three years old, he is maturing nicely, is a very good guard dog on the barking front, letting them know when anyone's about, but nice and friendly once he's been formally introduced.
'Happy Chrishmash, everyone!'

February 2009

Poor Hamish had to have his tail partially amputated last year due to never-ending injuries - and a whole lot of blood spattered walls! At least he can wag his tail in peace now.

Two weeks later, Heather discovered a tiny lump on his side that turned out to be cancerous, so he had to go back in again for major surgery. Thankfully he now has the all clear and is thoroughly enjoying the Yorkshire snow.
