We're not great travellers, so it wasn't hard to decide even before we had our first
wolfhound, McGinty, that since we could never contemplate putting him in boarding
kennels our roaming days were over. We knew that we would derive far more
pleasure from living with a wolfhound every day of the year than from the occasional
holiday. It was a decision we never regretted, but living as we do on a small island it was inevitable that sooner or later we would get itchy feet. By the time this happened McGinty was far too old and set in his ways for us to reconsider, but we were determined that as new pack members came 'on-line' they would learn to be more adaptable. From 2003 - 2006 we made several trips away with some or all of the dogs, usually to our neighbouring island of Jersey or to the beautiful Cotswold hills in England. In the autumn of 2006 we bought a permanent holiday home in the village of Laverton, Somerset, enabling us to travel to the mainland with all four dogs much more frequently, and our holiday photos are now presented on the 'Latest Photos' page, as and when they happen.
