Medo and Jon have been keeping very busy - Jon has passed the 'A' obedience exam,
which consists of lead-walking at various paces; 20 minute sit and down stay,
interaction with a group of people and recall. Medo has done even better and passed the BBh exam. This is a requirement for many working breeds and begins with the 'A' exam but with all tasks both on and off lead. The dog is then tested in an urban environment (meeting people, cars, cats, bicycles, roller-skaters) after which he is tethered to see if he can remain calm and well behaved while other dogs and owners walk by. In addition, the owner has to take a test on dog health and regulations. Well done to both boys - and to Polona! Both boys have visited a local retirement home where they were the centre of attraction . . . |
At home, things have been even more exciting as Medo and Jon have a new 'brother'
- Lenny the border terrier, who was born on 23 November 2009. It looks as though
Medo and Jon aren't going to be getting much rest for a while. The first days after Lenny's arrival were a bit confusing, and the family were amazed how small, brave and independent the youngster was. The big boys accepted Lenny without complaint and they all get on well together. Their early meetings were under strict supervision, first in the house and then outside but separated. Then the time came to put then all out together. It was magic! Everything was perfect, the sun shone brightly and the boys behaved really well. |
