Bedlam August 2002 - 6 January 2008 Bedlam was the first wolfhound of Sarah and Michael McNicholas of Yorkshire. She earned her name as a crazy pup, but was the sweetest bitch and loved all dogs - provided they treated her as royalty. Bedlam's great heart gave way a day after surgery to amputate her front leg. |

Milo September 2000 - 12 March 2008 Milo lived in the beautiful village of Wellow, Somerset, where he was something of a local celebrity and shared his life with an assortment of cats, ducks and tropical fish. He was the second, greatly loved, wolfhound of Chris and Debbie Cook and their children, Sam and Laura, and died after a bravely fought battle against osteosarcoma. |
Syrus 21 July 2003 - 16 March 2008 Syrus was a worthy and much loved successor to Tammy & Douglas van Keulen's Strider. His sudden and unexpected death from congestive cardiac failure at the age of just four was a terrible shock for the whole family, especially young Shannah and Jordan. Baby Alyssa never got to know her big protector. |
Molly 16 April 2001 - 17 March 2008 After a brave battle against bone cancer, Molly took a turn for the worse, and her 'mum', Terri Sharlott, knew that it was time to let her go. Molly spent her last morning in her favourite place in the garden with the sun on her back, watching the world go by before the vet arrived. |
Boru July 2004 - 19 March 2008 Boru was Alison and Roy Davison's first wolfhound. He was put to sleep when a blood clot was found attached to a spinal artery. Whenever Alison returned from shopping Boru would be waiting to see what she had bought him. He loved pig's ears, and he loved his cats, defending them from other animals. He will be so greatly missed. |
Sirus February 2003 - 18 May 2008 Sirus lived with Sarah and Michael McNicholas and their young son, Aidan, and springer spaniel, Holly, in Leeds, Yorkshire. Sadly, his very best friend, Bedlam died in January 2008. Sirus battled valiantly against bone cancer, and after undergoing amputation demonstrated beyond all doubt that wolfhound 'tripods' can lead full, active and very happy lives. |
Millie 15 August 1999 - 6 June 2008 Millie lived with and was greatly loved by Janelle Stovall of Memphis. She suffered
many health problems especially in her later years, but even her great spirit
couldn't fight off bone cancer for long. Her death at the age of nearly nine
has left Janelle inconsolable. |
Jazz 23 June 2000 - 10 June 2008 Beautiful Jazz lived with Perry and Teresa Kuntz in Austin, Arkansas, where she was
the respected matriarch of their pack. She was immensely loved, and was special
beyond words. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten. |
Molly 13 January 2002 - 28 June 2008 Molly was the first wolfhound of Margaret and Chas Greatwich of Wales, and a litter
sister to our Darcy. She was diagnosed with a heart condition at the age of
six and given six weeks to live, but Molly had other ideas and kept going for another
four months. Her death has been devastating for Margaret and Chas . . .
nothing eases the hurt. |
Siofra 13 January 2002 - 10 July 2008 Siofra was the loved and greatly cherished second wolfhound of Julie Domaille and
her family in Guernsey, who took in her at the age of four when her original
home broke up. She was also a litter sister to our Darcy and to Molly (see previous
entry). Siofra had been diagnosed with bone cancer just a few months before
her death at six-and-a-half. |
Willow 17 April 2000 - 15 August 2008 Willow lived with Bruce and Glynis Jordan in Cornwall. Their first wolfhound, she
had a chequered medical history culminating in serious heart murmur, but even
so her death at the age of eight was sudden and unexpected, and the loss of their
'main girl' has filled the Jordans and their family with sorrow. More about Willow |
Ibella 7 Nov 1998 - 18 October 2008 Ibella was a very special lady - the first wolfhound of Edita Dobrovolna and the
foundation bitch of her very successful Czech kennel. The grand old matriach of
her extended family, she died just two weeks before her tenth birthday. Throughout
her long life she was happy, full of energy, so loving . . . and so much loved. More about Ibella and her family |
Rainbow 21 Sept 2005 - 3 December 2008 Bred and very much loved by Fran Smith-King and Bill Barnbrook, beautiful Rainbow had a very successful show career. She died at just three years old from pneumonia following kennel cough, and is greatly missed by all the Bribiba family. |
Merle 26 July 2000 - 15 November 2008 Merle was adored and cherished by Anita and David Boyce, and admired by all who met her for her elegance and charm. She was the daughter of Anita's magnificent Massine, and the last in an unbroken line of wolfhounds stretching back 37 years. She was her mum's shadow, and is surely still watching over her. |
